Amour Bonheur Etched Glass Tumbler, £12.50, from Summerill & Bishop.

These water glasses are too pretty for words. I recently came across a pair of etched Victorian ones in red, not dissimilar to these; someone was using them as vases and they looked terrific. Now we can all join in with these from Summerill and Bishop.

Cotton check Ashbourne French Blue, £14 per metre, from Tinsmiths.

Gingham has always been a winner but not until Ash New York draped Hotel Peter & Paul in it did I give it the respect it deserves. Tinsmiths have plenty of well-priced fabrics, but I thought this gingham was particularly delightful.

Broidery Anglaise White Gathered Shade, £25, from Dunelm.

The one thing my friends ask for are good suggestions for lighting, so I am continually looking for lampshades. I have yet to send them this guy from Dunelm, but I think it is as cute as a button.

Antique Cabinet Cupboard Art Deco Glazed Vintage, £225, from eBay.

So this is a sturdy structure, but there is a charm in that steadfastness. Its cubist attributes would bring a certain amount of cool to one's home. That being said, I imagine it in a Rose Uniacke set up with masses of space, which might be a little bit of wishful thinking.

Hand Painted Daisy Water Carafe and Tumbler, £40, from Petra Palumbo.

Petra Palumbo is a big supporter of the war of plastic, but her beautiful hand-painted carafe is making the war look pretty charming.

Jute mat with red chevron design, £62, from Maison Bengal.

I recently went to the wonderful Hand Sale (if you don't know it you are missing a serious trick) - when I was there I was introduced to the marvelous Maison Bengal. I bought 6 of their jute placemats and I'm beyond happy of them. Anyway, my next purchase will be two of these mats for my hallway.

Marbled Dinner Plates, £18.50, from Tinsmiths.

We all love a bit of marbling, on our lampshades, our books and now these plates for my kitchen. Another winner from Tinsmiths!

Korey Wall light, £45, from Made.com.

Another bit of lighting to brighten this list up, this time from Made. A discreet well formed brass number, perfect for nestling beside a headboard.

    Linen-blend tablecloth, £24.99, from H&M Home.

I have recently done a pop up with 8 Holland Street; during the setup, a tablecloth was desperately needed - I dashed to H&M and was blown away by the selection they had on offer. I chose a gingham (another mention) green tablecloth, but this one is also tops.

Art Deco Brass Bed, £225, from eBay.

I always am on eBay looking for furniture; I might never be able to own any of it, but I enjoy the process of seeing what is out there. This art deco bed is quite the showstopper, and I will be eternally envious of the buyer of this beauty.
