    Secret Cinema

    Secret Cinema is not such a secret anymore, as one of the summer’s most clamoured for tickets. The pop-up chooses a film each year, asks guests to dress up as a character of their choosing from said movie and enter the world of the film they’re about to watch. It’s a mini festival, with food stalls and pop-ups around the cinema screen in keeping with the film. This year, don your best 007 costume for Casino Royale.

    Luna Cinema

    Luna is one of the biggest and most impressive stagers of open-air cinema events in the UK. Their pop-ups tend to happen at venerable houses and monuments all over the country: Waddesdon Manor, Castle Howard and Bolton Abbey are among the many amazing places you can catch them. Starting in May, you can see screenings of Bohemian Rhapsody, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and The Greatest Showman, plus a very strong roster of 80s classics, from Pretty Woman to Back To The Future.

    Pop Up Screens

    Pop Up Screens bring the movie-under-the-stars experience to the whole of London, with screenings from Hammersmith to Holborn, the City to East Dulwich. VIP tickets come with a seat, otherwise you’ll need to grab a rug, deck chair or some cushions before you head out for a screening. Come rain or shine, the show must go on, with films from every genre and decade on offer. Food, drink and popcorn stalls provide all the refreshments you’ll need.

    Nomad Cinema

    Nomad Cinema roams around London in the summer months, presenting a mix of new releases, classic favourites, and cult underdogs. Venues include the magical surrounds of Brompton Cemetery and numerous other sites all over London, from Leadenhall Market to Wembley Park. Showings start in June, and this year’s offerings include The Favourite, Some Like It Hot, and Labyrinth. The food is pretty good too - champagne from Lanson and junk food from Cheeky Burgers - what better combination?

    Film4 Summer Screen at Somerset House

    Somerset House has the advantage of being both very beautiful and very central, making it perfect for all manner of events. The Film4 Summer Screen sets up shop in the courtyard in August, and this year includes several favourites close to our hearts: Clueless is top of the list, but also the Marvel blockbuster Black Panther, and the tender love story God’s Own Country. The full line-up comes out in May, and tickets are sure to go fast.

    Hyde Park British Summertime

    The British Summertime festival at Hyde Park is more than just a cinema, it’s a whole fortnight of events including live music (Celine Dion and Barbra Streisand are headlining!), outdoor games, and plenty of food and drink. The festival also hosts outdoor movie nights in between all of this, so it's the perfect venue for all your summer entertainment.
